eBots, Inc. Raises $4 Million in Series A Financing

eBots to Expand Product Suite and Services

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 4, 2005--eBots, Inc., a pioneer in the development of “electronic Kanban” software for lean manufacturing operations, today announced the completion of Series A financing totaling $4 million. eBots’ investors include venture capital firms Labrador Ventures and Draper Richards, who jointly led the financing with additional investments from Draper Associates and WI Harper Group.

“Labrador found the opportunity to invest in the world’s leader in lean manufacturing software too exciting to resist” stated Sean Foote, Partner, Labrador Ventures. “Their track record of customer satisfaction and large existing base of manufacturing deployments is an indication of the caliber of their management team and the size of their market.”

“eBots has experienced tremendous growth during the last eighteen months driven by the rapid adoption of lean manufacturing techniques and the success experienced by eBots customers,” said Narayan Laksham, eBots’ Founder and President. “This financing will allow us to support our growing customer base with new products and services.”

With ever expanding global competition and constant pressure to reduce lead times, companies worldwide are rapidly adopting lean manufacturing techniques. Lean manufacturing helps companies streamline processes, reduce lead times, and lower inventory levels while building to-order rather than to-stock. Lean manufacturing is the only proven way to deliver a wide variety of products while maintaining short lead times, low costs and premium quality.

“The traditional approach of one size fits all breaks down when it comes to lean manufacturing,” said Paul Chau, Senior Vice President, WI Harper. “eBots’ flexible and highly customizable approach compliments many ERP systems by meeting the needs of the shop floor while keeping critical inventory and production data current.”
